AHHH! That's the sound of a CEGEP teacher who has nearly finished her grading! Which means I have more time to concentrate on writing. Did I already tell you I am revising my Nunavik manuscript (the tentative title is On the George River)? It's due next Monday!! YIKES!! (That's the sound of a nervous writer.) But, so far, I'm moving along okay in the re-write. I am a littlenervous, though, because the polar bear scene is coming up and apparently I really screwed that up (I know because my friend Mark, who lives in George River, has come to my rescue). Anyway, you can't blame me for being nervous about a polar bear! How would you feel if you met one? I know this sounds silly, except that when I'm writing, I really get into my story... and besides, I do need to untangle several elements so that it makes sense and my friends up north will be able to read the book and think I did a decent job with it.
Hey, I almost forgot to tell you. This week, I am writing a diary for The National Post newspaper -- I started yesterday and it runs through Friday. It's in the Arts & Life section. Here's the link to today's diary: National Post
